Film Composition and Sound Design
'The Girl in the Elevator' and 'The Elevator Dance (For Elisa) Remix' short films by Jessica Sison. This is a demo of my music and sound design work. In 'The Girl in the Elevator' you will hear the score and sound design for the initial idea entry into a film contest with specific dialogue given for us to work around. Jessica asked me to create something mysterious but not too scary and add lightness to a dark back story of a young woman who went missing from a hotel elevator. In 'The Elevator Dance (For Elisa) Remix', Jessica repurposed the original footage to create a completely different film. It transformed from a horror film into an experimental dance film. I was asked to take the theme of lightness to a dark story in the form of music to get up and dance to! Tools: I used Ableton Live, various synthesizers, samplers and even my own voice to create a unique sonic interpretation of the directors vision. The film has been screening in film festivals around the world and recently won 2025 "Best Experimental Film" at the Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation and Technology.
